Mehrak Kamali

Dr. Mehrak Kamali is an Iranologist and Professor of Persian who specializes in Persian language pedagogy, modern Persian literature, and the contemporary history of Iran. Since 2014, he has served as Director of the Persian Language Program in the Department of Near Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures at The Ohio State University.

Dr. Kamali has published numerous scholarly articles in Persian on modern Persian literature and Iranian history. He is also the Persian translator of The Politics of Writing: A Study of Modern Persian Literature by Kamran Talattof, published by Namak Publications in 2016. In addition, he is the author of Sociological Essays on Contemporary Iranian Fiction, published by Mehri Publications in 2020.

Dr. Kamali also serves as an honorary editorial advisor to Asemana Books’ Persian Fiction Program.
