That Woman tells the story of a Kurdish immigrant woman living in Norway who believes only in love. Her friends and lovers are also among the world’s displaced—people exiled from their homelands, broken by loss and violence. Their presence in her life brings her closer to understanding herself.
She recounts the events of her life through a series of letters addressed to her Afghan lover, who is no longer alive. After receiving devastating news from Afghanistan, he became incapable of loving anymore. In the aftermath of this tragedy, the woman, overwhelmed by helplessness, tries to speak to him through a series of fragmented narratives drawn from her living nightmares.

مهسا نیکان متولد ۱۹۸۴ از ایران (کردستان) است و در رشتۀ روانشناسی کودکان استثنایی تحصیل کرده. اولین داستانهای او برای کودکان در ماهنامۀ عروسک سخنگو در ایران منتشر شدند.
او در سال ۲۰۱۳ از طریق شبکه آیکورن (به عنوان نویسندۀ مهمان در شهرهای آزاد) از سلیمانیه به نروژ مهاجرت کرد
آن زن، اولین کتاب اوست که در نشر آسمانا منتشر خواهد شد
Mahsa Nikan
Mahsa Nikan, born in 1984, is originally from Iranian Kurdistan. He studied psychology with a specialization in exceptional children. His first stories for children were published in the Iranian monthly magazine Aroosak-e Sokhangoo (The Talking Doll).
In 2013, he emigrated from Sulaymaniyah to Norway through the ICORN network (International Cities of Refuge Network) as a guest writer.
That Woman is her first book to be published by Asmana Books.
