Farnaz Khatibi Jafari

Farnaz Khatibi Jafari is a novelist and educator based in Japan. Her work explores identity, memory, and the quiet erosion of the self within systems that demand silence and conformity.
Influenced by years of teaching on consciousness and selfhood, she writes fiction that moves between perception and reality, where identity is not stable but shaped, fractured, and sometimes lost. Her work is rooted in lived experience, observation, and long-term engagement with Japanese performance culture.
Her first novel, Hiro, was published in Iran in 2023. Suga すが is her first English-language novel, written in a voice that reflects both philosophical inquiry and emotional restraint.
