این کتاب پژوهشی است در پیوند ژرف میان گاه‌شماری خورشیدی، حافظه‌ی جمعی، و هویت تاریخی ایرانیان. نویسنده در این اثر تلاش کرده است نشان دهد چگونه نظام زمان‌سنجی خورشیدی نه‌تنها از دل تاریخ پرتلاطم ایران زنده و پویا باقی مانده، بلکه به بخش بنیادینی از هویت فرهنگی، سیاسی و تاریخی ساکنان ایران‌زمین تبدیل شده است.

نویسنده با بررسی ریشه‌های تاریخی تقویم خورشیدی، از جمله تدوین تقویم جلالی در قرون میانه و رسمی شدن آن در عصر پهلوی، به این پرسش می‌پردازد که چرا جشن‌هایی چون نوروز همچنان در حافظه‌ی ملی ایرانیان زنده مانده‌اند، حال‌آن‌که آیین‌هایی چون مهرگان به فراموشی سپرده شده‌اند.

در این میان، نقش حافظه‌ی جمعی—به‌عنوان ذخیره‌ی مشترک خاطرات، دانش و تجربه‌ی تاریخی یک ملت—در تداوم و بازتولید هویت ایرانی محور اصلی بحث قرار می‌گیرد. نویسنده با نگاهی انتقادی به مفاهیمی چون «حافظه‌ی تاریخی» و «هویت ملی»، آن‌ها را در پیوند با نشانه‌های زمانی و فرهنگی تحلیل می‌کند و به خواننده نشان می‌دهد که چگونه تقویم و زمان‌سنجی می‌تواند بنیانی برای انسجام فرهنگی و تاریخی یک ملت باشد.

این کتاب نخستین پژوهشی‌ست که به‌طور نظام‌مند به بررسی گاه‌شماری خورشیدی ایران از منظر حافظه‌ی جمعی و ساختارهای هویتی پرداخته است و تلاشی‌ست برای پر کردن خلأیی مهم در ادبیات ایران‌شناسی و مطالعات فرهنگی تاریخی.

This book, structured in two distinct yet interconnected parts, offers a comparative study of two significant realms in the history of theatre: first, Iranian drama within the socio-cultural context of the Qajar era, and second, commedia dell’arte as one of the influential movements in classical European theatre.

In the first part, with a focus on the Qajar period, the author attempts to analyze the historical, social, and aesthetic conditions that gave rise to Iranian drama in this era, and examines the gradual transition from traditional performances to more modern and structured theatrical forms. This section, with an emphasis on the modernization of Iranian theatre, seeks to reexamine the formal and thematic capacities of indigenous performances in the face of modern transformations.

The second part is dedicated to analyzing the roots, structure, and performative functions of commedia dell’arte. This theatrical form, which originated in 16th-century Italy, played a key role in shaping the European theatrical tradition through its unique performance methods, character types, and reliance on improvisation. In this section, the author explores the aesthetic, corporeal, and social dimensions of the form through an analytical lens and considers its relationship to contemporary trends in acting and directing.

Taken together, the book is an effort to reconsider the historical and performative relationship between Iranian and European theatre, with the aim of highlighting the potential for intercultural dialogue within the performing arts.

درباره‌ی زندگی، آثار و اندیشه‌های میرزا آقاخان کرمانی (۱۸۵۳ / ۱۸۵۴ ــ ۱۸۹۶ میلادی) یکی از تواناترین نویسندگانِ ایرانمدار، یکی از بنیانگزارانِ گفتمانِ انقلابِ مشروطیت و یکی از تاثیرگذارترین نقادانِ دین و حکومت در قرن نوزدهم میلادی، کتابها و مقالات زیادی نوشته شده‌اند. کتاب «تکوین و تشریع» او اینک برای نخستین‌بار منتشر می‌شود.

آقاخان کرمانی این کتاب را در بازه زمانی‌ای نوشته که با بابیان ازلی حشر و نشر داشته، و در چند جای این کتاب اشاراتی به شیخ احمد احسائی، موسسه مکتب شیخیه‌ای که از دل آن بابیسم و بهائيت روئيده، و اهلِ بیان نیز دارد. و از آنجا که آقاخان کرمانی در کتاب «هشت بهشت» به «تکوین و تشریع» ارجاع داده، و از آنجا که نسخه‌ای (ناقص) از «هشت بهشت»در سال ۱۸۹۱ برای پرفسور براون ارسال شده، شاید بتوان گفت که «تکوین و تشریع» در همان سال و یا پیش از آن نوشته شده است. آقاخان کرمانی مفهومِ «تکوین» را هم در معنای خلقت، یعنی پیدایشِ هستی بکار برده و هم در معنای تکاملِ/فرگشتِ داروینی.

Numerous books and articles have been written about the life, works, and ideas of Mirza Agha Khan Kermani (1853 or 1854 – 1896 CE), one of the most capable Iran-centered writers, a founding figure in the discourse of the Constitutional Revolution, and one of the most influential critics of religion and government in the nineteenth century.

His book “Takwīn wa Tashrīʿ” (Creation and Legislation) is now being published for the first time.

Āqā Khān-e Kirmānī wrote this book during a period when he was closely associated with the Bābī-Azalī community, and in several parts of the book, he refers to Shaykh Aḥmad Aḥsāʾī, the Shaykhī school from which Bābism and Bahāʾism later emerged, as well as to the “People of the Bayān” (ahl-i bayān). Since Āqā Khān-e Kirmānī, in his book Hašt Behešt (“Eight Paradises”), refers to Takwīn wa Tašrīʿ (“Creation and Legislation”), and since an (incomplete) copy of Hašt Behešt was sent to Professor Browne in 1891, it may be inferred that Takwīn wa Tašrīʿ was written in that same year or earlier.

Āqā Khān-e Kirmānī used the concept of takwīn both in the sense of creation—meaning the origination of existence—and in the sense of Darwinian evolution.

در‌باره‌ی زندگی، آثار و اندیشه‌های میرزا آقاخان کرمانی (۱۸۵۳ / ۱۸۵۴ ــ ۱۸۹۶ میلادی) یکی از تواناترین نویسندگانِ ایرانمدار، یکی از بنیانگذارانِ گفتمانِ انقلابِ مشروطیت و یکی از تاثیرگذارترین نقادانِ دین و حکومت در قرن نوزدهم میلادی، کتابها و مقالات زیادی نوشته شده‌اند. [۱] از اینرو در ادامه تنها به کتابِ «ریحان بوستان‌افروز» او می‌پردازم که اینک برای نخستین بار منتشر می‌شود.

نام کامل کتاب «ریحان بوستان‌افروز بر طرز و ترتیب ادبیات فرنگستان امروز» است و آقاخان کرمانی، چنانکه خودش در کتاب یادآور شده، طرح آن را در استانبول ریخته و پس از تبعید شدن به طرابوزن «برای گذرانیدن وقت و اشتغال خاطر» به نگارش‌اش پرداخته، و احتمالا آخرین اثر اوست. کتاب به صورت ناقص بدست ما رسیده و تنها بیست صفحه از آن در دست است. تاریخ نگارش آن ذیقعدهء ۱۳۱۳ هجری قمری برابر با ۱۸۹۶ میلادی و ۱۲۷۵ خورشیدی است. آقاخان کرمانی در این کتاب نه‌تنها بر ادبیات کلاسیک و معاصر زمان خود، بلکه حتی بر آثار پیشین خویش نیز می‌شورد و خواستار بازنگری بنیادی در ادبیات می‌شود؛ ادبیاتی که برای آن کارکرد اجتماعی قائل است.

This book presents, for the first time in book form Rayḥān būstān-afrūz.

The full title of the book is Rayḥān būstān-afrūz: bar ṭarz va tartīb-i adabiyāt-i farangistān-i ‘imrūz (“On the Style and Arrangement of the Literature of Today’s West), and as Agha Khan Kermani himself notes in the book, he conceived the project in Istanbul and began writing it in Trabzon during his exile “to pass the time and occupy the mind.” It is likely his final work. The book has reached us in an incomplete form—only twenty pages are extant. The date of composition is Dhi’l-Qaʿda 1313 AH, corresponding to 1896 CE / 1275 SH.

In this book, Agha Khan Kermani not only critiques classical and contemporary literature of his time but even takes issue with his own earlier works, calling for a fundamental re-evaluation of literature—literature to which he assigns a social function.

در دوره‌ای که میرزا آقاخان کرمانی جزو نویسندگان «اختر» بود، سلسله ‌مقالاتی از او با عنوان «فن گفتن و نوشتن» با ذکر نام‌اش در دوازده شماره منتشر شدند. نخستین مقاله در سال پانزدهم، شماره‌ی سی‌وهفتم (۲۲ ذی‌الحجه ۱۳۰۶ هجری قمری، برابر با ۱۹ اوت ۱۸۸۹ میلادی) و آخرین مقاله در سال شانزدهم، شماره‌ی یازدهم (۱۷ ربیع‌الاول ۱۳۰۷ هجری قمری، برابر با ۱۱ نوامبر ۱۸۸۹ میلادی)  به چاپ رسیده است. مقالات پیش‌رو حُکمِ سنجه‌ای برایِ درکِ تحولاتِ فکریِ آقاخان کرمانی در زمینه‌ی ادبیات را دارند؛ چرا که در سال‌های نخستین ورودش به استانبول نوشته شده‌اند.

Numerous books and articles have been written about the life, works, and ideas of Mirza Agha Khan Kermani (1853 or 1854 – 1896 CE), one of the most capable Iran-centered writers, a founding figure in the discourse of the Constitutional Revolution, and one of the most influential critics of religion and government in the nineteenth century.

This book presents, for the first time in book form, a collection of his articles published in the Akhtar newspaper of Istanbul.

During the period when Mirza Agha Khan Kermani was among the contributors to Akhtar, a series of articles titled The Art of Speaking and Writing was published under his name in twelve issues. The first article appeared in Year Fifteen, Issue Thirty-Seven (22 Dhu al-Hijjah 1306 AH, corresponding to August 19, 1889 CE), and the last article was published in Year Sixteen, Issue Eleven (17 Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1307 AH, corresponding to November 11, 1889 CE).

These articles serve as a valuable benchmark for understanding the intellectual development of Agha Khan Kermani in the realm of literature, as they were written during the early years of his arrival in Istanbul.

این کتاب اولین دفتر از دفترهای ماتریالیسم تاریخی‌ست که در نشر آسمانا منتشر خواهند شد: “دفترهای ماتریالیسم تاریخی بناست مجموعه‌ی متون تئوریکی باشد در مورد عینیت اکنون، که به ناگزیر در رابطه با واکاوی مبارزات گذشته و لاجرم در پیوند با کنکاش افق‌های رهایی آینده است. اما هدف از انتشار این “دفترها” در میانه‌ی تشدید بحران سرمایه‌داری امپریالیستی و تبارزات هولناکش در خاورمیانه چیست؟ بحران سرمایه‌داری امپریالیستی پدیده‌ی تازه‌ای نیست؛ آنچه بار له‌کننده‌ی این بحران را برای توده‌ها و مبارزات آنان در دهه‌های اخیر بس سهمگین کرده مضاعف شدنش با بحرانی دیگر است: بحران تئوریک. بحران تئوریک، اما نه تصادفی است و نه خودبه‌خودی، بلکه علاوه بر مبنای تحولات عینی تاریخی، اساسا محصول تجاوزها و تحریف‌های تئوریک بی‌وقفه و سازمان‌یافته‌ای است که طبقه‌ی حاکم و ایدئولوگ‌های آن در مورد تاریخ ایده‌ها و مبارزات توده‌ها صورت داده‌اند”.

شهرزاد مجاب محقق، آموزگار و کنشگر سرشناس ایرانی-کانادایی، استاد آموزش بزرگسالان و توسعه‌ی اجتماعی و همچنین مدیر سابق مطالعات زنان و جنسیت در دانشگاه تورنتو است. ایشان برنده جوایز متعددی منجمله جایزه یک عمر دستاورد انجمن کانادایی مطالعات آموزش بزرگسالان،  جایزه انجمن سلطنتی کانادا در حوزه مطالعات جنسیت، و جایزه خدمات برجسته به آموزش عالی بوده‌اند. پژهش  و تدریس دکتر مجاب بر نظریه‌پردازی مارکسیسم و فمینیسم، تئوری اینترسکشنالیتی، پدرسالاری سرمایه‌داری امپریالیستی و جنبش‌های زنان، دانشجویان و ملیت‌ها در خاورمیانه و شمال آفریقا متمرکز است

محمد حاجی ­نیا، فارغ‌التحصیل کارشناسی ارشد در رشته­‌ی فلسفه از دانشگاه تهران و دانشگاه ایکس مارسی است. پی‌­جوئی‌­های او با اتکا به میدان مفهومی فراهم آمده توسط خوانش آلتوسری از مارکسیسم، متمرکز بر بنیان‌­های «معرفت‌­شناسی»، پراتیک تئوریک، و تحلیل طبقاتی در مارکسیسم است

This is the first book in the Series on Historical Materialism. This series aims for a collection of theoretical texts about the objective condition of the present, which is inevitably related to the analysis of past struggles and necessarily linked to the exploration of the horizons of future liberation. But what is the purpose of publishing these volumes in the middle of the intensifying crisis of imperialist capitalism and the terrible conflicts in the Middle East? The crisis of imperialist capitalism is not a new phenomenon. What has made the crushing burden of this crisis so terrifying for the masses and their struggles in recent decades is its doubling with another crisis: the theoretical crisis. The theoretical crisis, however, is neither random nor spontaneous. In addition to being based on objective historical developments, it is basically the product of continuous and organized theoretical violations and distortions that the ruling class and its ideologues have carried out throughout the history of the ideas and struggles of the masses.

این کتاب به بررسی و نقد اشعار نیما در سال‌های 1311-1321 می‌پردازد. برخلاف اغلب نويسندگان و منتقدان که ادعا میكنند در این دوره طبيعتگرايی و رومانتيسم از شعر نیما کنار می‌رود، در این کتاب نشان داده می‌شود که ارمان‌خواهی، طبیعت‌گرایی و رومانتیسیسم در شعر نیما تداوم می‌یابند. نویسنده با تجزیه و تحلیل شعر نیما در بستر تحول سیاست، اقتصاد و فرهنگ این دهه نمای پدیده‌ی «رومانتیسیم ایرانی» را ترسیم کرده است. همچنین فصلی از این اثر به رویارویی شعر نیمایی با شعر سنتی پرداخته و دفاع نیما از نوع شعری خود را تجزیه و تحلیل، و تاریخ نگاری کرده است

A collaboration between an ethnographer, a bilingual poet, and an Anglo-Irish literature scholar, this multilingual volume includes 100 Likoos, a syllabic genre of oral poetry, in their original Roudbari, accompanied by English and Persian translations.

Likoo is one of the oldest and most concise forms of oral poetry in the Iranian plateau. Composed in the languages of the people of Roudbar and Balochistan in southeast Iran, Likoos are a testament to the cultural diversity and linguistic richness of the region. Balochistan and Roudbar, akin to siblings in geographical proximity, share a profound cultural bond.

Likoos echo the lives of people in Roudbar, the lives of those living in the oasis, surrounded by the desert. They depict life in the desert with all its hardships, challenges, and failures. Likoos are the poetry of short joys and continuous hardship, reflecting the brutality of life dominated by nomadic social relations. They are the voice of a lover who catches a glimpse of his beloved in the desert, the call of a camel driver in the lonely nights of the desert on a dry path, or the mourning over the death of a young person due to tribal violence.

 دکتر امیر حسن‌پور (۱۳۹۶-۱۳۲۲) زبان‌شناس، مورخ و تئوریسین مارکسیست علوم ارتباطات و مطالعات کردی، استاد سابق دانشگاه‌های ویندزور، کنکوردیا و دپارتمان مطالعات خاورمیانه در دانشگاه تورنتو بودند. کتاب «شورش دهقانان مکریان ۱۳۳۱-۱۳۳۲ش: اسناد کنسولگری، مکاتبات دیپلماتیک و گزارش روزنامه‌ها» چهارمین کتاب ایشان پس از کتاب‌هایی از جمله «مقالاتی درباره‌ی کردها: تاریخ‌نگاری، شفاهیت، و ناسیونالیسم» (انتشارات پیتر لنگ، ۲۰۲۰)، و «آریان‌پور ‌و جامعه‌شناسی مارکسیستی: تاریخ، طبقه اجتماعی و دیالکتیک» (کتاب ایران‌نامگ، ۲۰۱۸) است که پس از درگذشت پروفسور حسن‌پور منتشر شده است.

کتابِ حاضر بخشی از آرشیو دکتر حسن‌پور و مرتبط به پژوهش ایشان برای تاریخ‌نگاری شورش دهقانان مُکریان است.  این اسناد غیر از شناخت تحولات ارضی و جنبش‌های دهقانی در ایران و کردستان، حاوی اطلاعات فراوانی دربارۀ ساخت اجتماعی-اقتصادی منطقه، تحولات مناطق مجاور و تاثیرات آن‌ها، روش‌ها و منابع اطلاعاتی کنسولگری، و جزئیات زیادی درباره وضعیت اقتصادی، معیشتی و کشاورزی منطقه در آن دوران است

The Peasant Uprising of Mukriyan 1952-1953: Consulate Documents, Diplomatic Correspondence, and the Press Coverage is the compendium volume of Amir Hassanpour’s seminal book on The Peasant Uprising of Mukriyan 1952-1953 ( شورش دهقانان مکریان 1331-3321ش) (Toronto: Iran Namag, 2021). Additional documents held at Amir Hassanpour Fonds at the University of Toronto Archives related to his extensive research on the historiography of the Mukriyan peasant uprising are included in this volume. This volume includes the Persian translation of Amir Hassanpour’s article in Kurdish on the Peasant Movement of 1952-53 (first published in 2017 in Derwaze, Kurdish journal of social sciences and humanities); the Persian translation of 54 declassified documents from the American Consulate in Tabriz and the American Embassy in Tehran; Persian translations of 8 diplomatic correspondences related to the United States Department of State; translations of 18 news reports and articles from historical newspapers, including the New York Times, New Times, and Trud. In some sections original copies of documents are also included. Moreover, the volume includes the transcribed correspondence between Amir Hasanpour and Massoud Muhammad (prominent Iraqi Kurdish intellectual and scholar, 1919-2002) on the issue of feudalism and class formation in Kurdistan, along with 20 original handwritten letters to and from him, and finally, 12 other historical documents related to the Mukriyan peasant movement. These two volumes provide the historical documents as well theoretical, historical, and political analysis of this understudied movement, a crucial event in the modern history of Iran.
